Frequently asked questions
Everything about turning your family photos into a cartoon portrait.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every new account gets 1 free generation — no credit card required. The free portrait includes a small watermark in the corner. Paid options for more generations and watermark-free images may be added later.
What kind of photos work best?
For the most recognizable result, upload one clear photo per person:
- Front-facing face, eyes visible, no sunglasses or masks
- Good lighting, sharp focus, face not cropped
- Plain or simple backgrounds help the model focus on the person
- Recent photos, so hairstyle and glasses match how they look now
Group selfies work, but separate single-person photos give each family member the most accurate face, hair and features.
How many photos should I upload?
Upload one photo for every person you want in the portrait, up to 8 photos. The final picture contains exactly the people you upload — no one is added or left out.
Can I include my dog, cat or other pet?
Absolutely — pets count as family. Add a clear photo of each pet alongside the people, and try the dedicated Family Portrait with Pets page. The model keeps the pet's breed and coloring consistent.
Will everyone still look recognizable?
That's the whole point. Each person's gender, age range, hair color and hairstyle, glasses, facial shape and skin tone are carried over into the cartoon version — only the art style changes. Results are strongest when the source photos are clear and front-facing.
How many art styles are there?
11 styles: 3D Cartoon, Anime Watercolor, Cel Anime, Storybook Watercolor, Cute Chibi, Flat Modern, Comic Book, Clay 3D, Kawaii Pastel, Block Toy and Editorial Illustration. You can also pick a background — studio, cozy sofa, park, Christmas, or let us surprise you.
How long does generation take?
Usually 20–40 seconds, depending on how many people and pets are in the portrait. Keep the tab open while it works.
Can I download the finished picture?
Yes. Once the portrait is ready, a Download button lets you save the full-resolution image to your device — perfect for printing, framing or sharing with the family.
Why does the free image have a watermark?
The free generation is supported by a small, semi-transparent site mark in the corner of the picture. Watermark-free, higher-resolution downloads are planned as a paid option.
The result has the wrong number of people or mixed-up features. Why?
This almost always traces back to the source photos: blurry faces, multiple people in one upload, side profiles, or faces blocked by hats/hands. Re-generate (on a paid credit or new account) using one bright, front-facing, single-person photo per family member, and the count and features line up far more reliably.
What happens to the photos I upload?
They're used only to create your portrait and are stored securely so the generation service can read them. We never sell them or use them for advertising. Full details are in our Privacy Policy, and you can request deletion by email.
Do I need an account?
Yes — a quick email sign-up (about 20 seconds) keeps the free generation fair and lets us save your result. One free generation per account.
Will there be paid plans or more credits?
Yes, paid credits and watermark-free HD portraits are on the way. Create your free portrait now, and the option to buy more will appear in your account when it launches.
